Cultivate awareness
and embrace who you are.

"The only reason we choose to do yoga is for the pleasure — the literal pleasure — of our systems relaxing and filling with energy. It is not some struggle to enjoy a future result."
~Mark Whitwell

Chris & Yoga

I share Yoga as I personally practice it—a focus on embracing what is, and letting go of struggle and the need to achieve. We’re already achieved as life itself. My practice has been informed and influenced by years of personal study, practice, and my teachers—Tony Sanchez, Ana Forrest and Jose Calarco, and Mark Whitwell.

Those who attend my classes can expect an hour of Hatha yoga asanas set to ceremonial music and mantras intended to help practitioners become aware of, and embrace, their own breath, bodies, and realities.

Trainings & Certifications:

I completed teacher training at the Ghosh Yoga College in Calcutta, where I studied traditional Indian prescriptive yoga, with Muktamala Mitra, granddaughter of Bishnu Charan Ghosh. This study gave me insight into who yoga could be for, and how it could be used for health and healing.

I completed teacher training with Tony Sanchez in Spain, where we studied in depth yoga asana. This training gave me my first lessons in what it meant to be a teacher, and how to develop a personal practice that informs what I teach.

I attended teacher training with Mark Whitwell in Bali, where we studied the traditional yoga teachings as brought forth by Krishnamacharya and T.K. Desikachar. These teachings have informed how I see the purpose of my yoga practice and how to present it to others.

I also spent a month training with Ana Forrest and Jose Calarco during their teacher training in Bali. While I did not participate in the full teacher training, my month with them had an important impact on my own personal practice and how I share it with others, which is why I consider them my teachers.
