I was googling around for interesting questions I could ask guests on my podcast when I came across this list of 350 good questions to ask. I loved it. I found myself reading all the questions and then answering them in my head. I realized this would be an interesting way for me to share what I think.
So that’s what I’m doing, and you’re welcome to join me by leaving YOUR answers to some of these questions in the comments.
Here are my answers for questions 33 - 40
33 - What’s the most expensive thing you’ve broken?
I’ve never broken anything I’d consider super expensive. I broke my wrist playing basketball once. And dislocated my elbow once snowboarding. I’ll assume those were expensive to repair at the time. It cost me dearly in pain and suffering that’s for sure.
For a some years I was only taking photos on film cameras. I had an older camera from the 70’s that I loved but it was ALWAYS breaking. Cost me about $60 every time I took it in. I paid a lot of money of the years to keep that thing operational. Could have bought myself a lot better camera that’s for sure.
34 - What obstacles would be included in the World’s most amazing obstacle course?
I think a truly modern obstacle course should include things that are actually obstacles in our lives these days; an iphone with a bunch of messages and notifications of likes on it, a music video with people doing cool things that make us question our relevancy and value, a car, a house, an idea of a person we might be or become someday.
35 - What makes you roll your eyes every time you hear it?
Whenever I hear someone complain about how “busy” they are or how they don’t have any “time.” We choose, and have control over how we spend our time, and we all have the same amount of time.
36 - What do you think you are much better at than you actually are?
I probably think I’m better at explaining things and ideas than I actually am. I sometimes find myself trapped in another persons rant, only to realize just how insightful and important this person assumes their words are. I do the same thing all the time. Assume what I’m saying is interesting or valuable to other people. It’s not that what we have to say or share is NOT interesting or valuable; I think it is. However the delivery and awareness taking place is worth contemplating in most situations. Something I’m practicing more these days.
37 - Should kidneys be able to be bought and sold?
I want to say yes to this because I tend to feel that we should all have full ownership rights over our own bodies and minds. If we own the rights to ourselves then we should be able to sell them. But of course this can be problematic for a lot of reasons that we can all imagine. But yes. I say yes.
38 - When was the last time you got to tell someone “I told you so.”?
Not for a long time.
39 - What would a world populated by clones of you be like?
Very weird for me, but I think it would be a pretty good world.
40 - What riddles do you know?
None. I hate riddles. Just tell me what’s going on.
